Liz Yule

Liz Yule is a Scottish artist based in Fife. A former civil engineering technician, she retired from that career in 1987 to concentrate on bringing up her family and to develop her artistic talents. Liz is mainly inspired by Scottish landscapes, seascapes, harbour and street scenes. She tries to capture the feeling of light in her paintings using an impressionistic style, and a bold use of colour and tone. She has always loved the freshness and transparency of watercolours but now often paints in acylics and oils. Art prizes have included five Shell Expo Awards at Kirkcaldy Art Gallery, but she is best known as the winner of the Channel 4 television 2001 series of Watercolour Challenge.
