| Josephine Gillespie has been painting for over ten years. She first took up her hobby under the tuition of Jean Martin and has not looked back since. She is presently studying Fine Art Development and Figure and Life Drawing Courses at Dundee College. Josephine paints mainly in watercolour and pastel but has recently explored acrylic and mixed media. She also enjoys sketching and can draw to a high standard. Lately she has been teaching herself portraiture and has discovered a knack for it. Although initially trained as a chemical engineer, she spends most of her time attending to her small sewing business where she does just about everything from alterations to wedding gowns. On top of all this, she is a mum and a maths tutor. Originally from the Philippines, she came to Fife, Scotland 18 years ago and has settled comfortably in Wormit with her husband and two teenage children Josephine is both a member of the Dundee Art Society and the Cupar Art Club. |
