January 20 - The Many Faces of Portraiture
Clare Brenan is going to give the Society a demonstration, showing the processes involved, in the preparation of a portrait and its creative composition and scale. It is often a mystery on
how an artists can capture a likeness on canvas, Clare can do it with both great skill and feeling for her subject.
February 17 - Painting Seascapes
Alfred Allan comes highly recommended with his interesting, and enjoyable, demonstrations showing how to approach and, handle, the wonderful topic of seascapes, which have been a great inspiration for artists throughout the centuries, Come and watch how the power of the sea can be capture
on canvas.
March 16 - Sweet Sensations of Botanical Painting
Victoria Scrivener-Anderson, has been with us before and, is making a return visit to demonstrate her stunning portrayal of flowers and plants. She paints with acrylic on canvas and explores such things as scale and form and, has begun to introduce hand-painted furniture into here theme of botanical artwork.
April 20 - A talk on the artist Joan Eardley –
Socio-realism to Abstraction?
Kathleen Stewart, who is a member of the Society, is going to give us an insight into the artist Joan Eardley. It will be an evening where you can sit back and enjoy a journey through the life, and influences, of an outstanding artist.
May 11 - A verbal, historical walk through the lives and inspirations of local artists
Matthew Jaron returns to give us a wonderful talk about the artists who have lived locally, what has inspired them and, made them so successful, over the years. Come and discover who may have been creating beautiful works of art in the house next door!
